"Houston...we have a problem!"

Actually, we don't. It's just the only thing halfway creative that I could think of other than. "they have cheese," and that is an inside joke. Many thanks go out to the Day, Martinez, Smith, and Solcher families for transporting us to Houston. The trip was right on time so far and no major hiccups. We did arrive at terminal C where the internet said we were supposed to be only to be told by a "friendly" customer service agent that we needed to go to terminal E for group check-in. After wandering from terminal to terminal we made our way to terminal E and check-in went smooth. I have never been through security quicker than I have today. There was no wait whatsoever...go Holy Spirit!!!

We are now here in plenty of time for our flight to LA. The teens are in good spirits and so are the adults. We will depart from here at 6:15PM and will head to LA. Hopefully I will post more there. I must admit it is somewhat of an addiction to post as much as I can on here so as to one day read it all again. I will try to get some more information from the teens soon! Until then, please keep us in your prayers. Here is a quick pic for you from check-in:

Marta and I lit candles for you during our time of adoration. Please remember that while you are sleeping, we are thinking about and praying for you all :-).

Much love!

After ya'll left yesterday, I watched the WYD 08 promo video on the web and I'm so excited and humbled to be a very small part in the work that God is doing through our STA pilgrims. Praise God for smooth journey thus far. Things are fairly quiet in the church office, despite the fact that it is Monday and we are in the throes of VBS this morning (eat your heart out, Tom!). Thanks so much for the pic!

Wishing you all a very blessed and restful "Tuesday",

Anita

ALICIA! We're at work and wanted to check in on you guys and see how things were going. It looks like things are going well so far. Nothing here is too exciting. Erin's day isn't going so well. She hopes you're doing better than her. I asked Paula if she wanted to say anything to you and she goes, "Hi. I dunno. I don't know what kind of language they use there in Aussie land." That should suffice. On a more serious note, we're very proud of you and hope this trip is everything you hoped it would be. Keep us posted and take lots of pictures!

Alicia. I am being chastized for not saying that we missed you and that our prayers are with y'all. I apologize. We miss you and our prayers are with y'all. Come back to us safely.

Fr. Michael phoned yesterday evening 5:15pm CST (8:15am Wed. Brisbane) to report that although the trip was very long, everyone tolerated it very well and they arrived safely in Brisbane to "pelting" rain. After sleeping for much of the flight, they took in the sights and rode the ferry before returning to the hotel at 6:30pm and were asleep by 7:30pm (exhausted). After a full night's rest, they were enjoying beautiful weather (50 degrees) as they traveled to the zoo. Tom will post some "great pics" and news soon. Father M's quote of the day: "The kids are very happy and are doing great . . . these kids are amazing, but you guys already know that!".

*Our apologies for any frustration you may have experienced yesterday with our server being down for most of the day.

It was wonderful to read how you all are doing, and to know that it is going well. You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

Thomas - we're so proud of you that you can hang on a light pole in two hemispheres! We miss you, but know you're having a wonderful time. Please continue to pray for all of us, as we pray for all of you.
